ANS-FENS travel scholarships 2017

The Cajal Advanced Neuroscience Training Program provides two-or-three-week hands-on courses to a group of about 20 international students in two major European neuroscience facilities in a variety of research fields. Details of the courses offered in 2017 are available below. Courses are project-based and designed by first-class neuroscientists.

ANS and FENS have entered into an agreement to provide reciprocal travel scholarships for Australian and New Zealand Early Career Researchers (ECR) who are ANS members to attend a Cajal course in 2017 (and a European ECR to attend ACAN).

Australian and New Zealand ECR interested in applying for an ANS-FENS travel scholarship must first apply directly to the course coordinator to attend the Course. Course attendance is competitive. Following acceptance of the ECR into the course, the ECR will then be eligible to apply for an ANS-FENS travel scholarship of a maximum of Aus$1100, depending on the number of applicants. Should there be more than one ECR applicant, the total funding of $1100 per course will be divided between the applicants. Note that, as the courses run from July to October in 2017 applications can be made at any time until Oct 1st 2017 and outcomes of all applications will only be announced after this date.

Eligibility rules: Applicants must be an ECR in a recognised institution in Australia or New Zealand and a financial member of ANS to apply for the scholarship. ECR is defined as a graduate student or postdoctoral researcher up to 10 years post-PhD, relative to opportunity. Note ANS has no influence on course acceptance, as this is the decision of the course coordinator.

Details of how to apply for the travel scholarships are available below.
