Past ANS Conferences
ANS Plenary Lectures have been held annually since 1981. There are 4 plenary lectures held at the annual ANS meetings, including the ANS Overseas Lecture, the ANS Plenary Lecture, the Eccles Lecture and the ANS Lawrie Austin Lecture The Eccles Lecture was named after Sir John Eccles, and is jointly sponsored by ANS and the Neurosurgical Society of Australasia and began in 1993. The speaker presents at both the annual ANS meeting and the annual meeting of the Neurosurgical Society. The Lawrie Austin Lecture is named in honor of Lawrie Austin, who was the first President of ANS and the first Australian elected to the Council of the International Society for Neurochemistry, not long after its formation. Further information about Lawrie Austin and his contribution to neuroscience in Australia is available here.
