The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF) announces The Edmond J. Safra Core Programs for PD Research, part of the annual Pipeline Programs seeking to develop new treatments and ultimately a cure for Parkinson’s disease (PD). The Edmond J. Safra Core Programs for PD Research is a series of three funding opportunities (Rapid Response Innovation Awards, Target Validation and Clinical Intervention Awards) that seek investigator-initiated proposals focused on the critical points along the translational pathway to new PD therapies.

To promote testing of novel hypotheses, funding from our Rapid Response Innovation Awards program quickly supports high-risk, high-reward projects with little to no existing preliminary data, but potential to significantly impact our understanding or treatment of PD.

This program is open to proposals focused on basic science, pre-clinical and clinical research and accepts applications from postdoctoral fellows as well as principal investigators.

MJFF employs an expedited, abbreviated granting mechanism to accelerate discoveries and ultimately translate findings to PD patients more quickly.

Travel Awards for Neuro2010

(joint-meeting of the 33rd Annual Meeting of the Japan Neuroscience Society (JNS), the 53rd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Neurochemistry (JSN), and the 20th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Neural Network Society (JNNS).

Neuro2010 offers Travel Awards to the non-Japanese students and post-docs traveling from abroad to present high quality papers at the meeting at Neuro2010, which will be held in Kobe, Japan from September 2nd to 4th, 2010.

Deadline of submission: February 28, 2010 (Online and e-mail submission) March 14, 2010 (Original documents should be sent to Secretariat))
