1. Scholarships from the Neurological Foundation of New Zealand

The Neurological Foundation of New Zealand is pleased to announce that it will again be offering scholarships to New Zealand-based beginning neuroscientists to allow them to participate in the Australian Course in Advanced Neuroscience (ACAN). Awards of up to $1,000 per attendee will be provided. Applicants should be either NZ citizens or hold permanent residency. It is important that applicants secure the necessary additional funding from their host institution before applying. The ACAN organizers will select the participants and then the Foundation will enter into discussions with the successful New Zealand-based applicants.

2. Fellowships for Asia-Pacific students from the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) and the Australian Neuroscience Society (ANS)

The Asia-Pacific Regional Committee of IBRO and the Australian Neuroscience Society are offering Fellowships to two young scientists working at an institute in the Asia-Pacific region (excluding Australia and New Zealand) to enable them to attend ACAN 2010. Each Fellowship will provide up to US$4000 towards the course fee and the cost of transportation to the course. The applicant must provide evidence that the remainder of the costs can be obtained from other sources. If you are applying for one of the IBRO/ANS-sponsored places on ACAN 2010, please apply through the IBRO Courses website.
